Explore Helsinki like never before.
How? With a local guide. Someone born and raised in Finland, and who’s called Helsinki home for many years now. That’s me!I’ve also lived abroad — in Malta, London, Copenhagen, and the U.S. — and maybe that’s exactly why I’ve come to appreciate the things in Helsinki (and Finland overall) that are hard to find anywhere else. And now, I’d love to share those places, flavors, and experiences with people visiting this city.Warm regards,
Viljami

True local experience
A laid-back yet adventure-filled day — packed with the kind of experiences you’d never stumble upon without a local by your side. We’re talking about the hidden gems, the places where you’ll mostly find actual Helsinkians — living their everyday lives in spots rarely mentioned in guidebooks. The kind of unique, memorable experiences that stay with you long after your trip ends. These are what I want to show you — instead of the usual must-see attractions. The activities, locations, and schedule are all flexible and tailored to the season, the weather, and, of course, your personal preferences. But don’t worry — there’s still plenty of excitement in store. Aside from a few essential questions (for you), most of the experience will remain a mystery… until it unfolds during our day.
Plan
1. Destination (a great place to start the day)
2. Experience (something you’ve never done before?)
3. Destination (how does the winter garden sound?)
4. Experience (not your typical snack break)
5. Destination (literally a local’s home)
6. Experience (a 5-star private lunch)
7. Experience (the urban way to do it…)
8A. Experience (recharge with a view) or
8B. Experience (dinner with a view)
9. Destination (seaside walk)
10. Experience (city-style BBQ)
11. Destination (the final destination)
Preparation
We’ll kick things off first thing in the morning. Helsinki tends to be a bit breezy (no matter if it's summer or not), so it’s always a good idea to dress a little warmer than the weather forecast suggests. We’ll be spending time both outdoors and indoors, and a light drizzle (rain) isn’t out of the question — so come prepared for that, too. There will also be an activity or two that calls for swimwear and a towel, so make sure to toss those in your bag. Other than that, there’s nothing you have to bring — less is more when it comes to city exploring. It’s much nicer to move around light and easy.Oh, and we might grab a bite at a restaurant at some point. No dress code or pressure — just wear whatever feels good to you!
Price
200 € per person – max 10 people, as some of the places we’ll visit aren’t really suited for large groups.Everything mentioned above is included in the price – with one small exception: options 8A and 8B are self-funded. In other words, I’ll take care of everything else – from public transport tickets to entrance fees, snacks, and even lunch.
Sounds like your kind of day? Shoot me a message – super easy.
On weekdays, I work at a bank — so this is more of a passion project than a full-time gig. That also means I only take on a limited number of tours and only during Saturdays and Sundays. If you’re up for exploring Helsinki, and want to see the more unique spots that don’t usually make it to travel guides (my personal recommendation!) — just send me a quick message below.
